Pensacola Fishing Report For October | AnglerUp Charters

 In Fishing reports

October is one of my favorite months to fish for a number of reasons. The first being that the weather starts to cool down and fishing conditions are usually very comfortable. If you book a boating trip this time of year you can normally expect sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70’s. Unfortunately the last two weeks the wind has been somewhat strong, so we have been limited as to where we can fish. If you get lucky and can catch a calm day then you are most likely in store for an eventful trip. That’s the second reason I love October! The Mahi Mahi move in very close to shore which is something that only happens this time of year. Not only are they phenomenal to eat, but they are a blast on light tackle. The only problem with targeting these Mahi Mahi is the wind needs to be somewhat calm so we can get off the beach. The 25 mph east winds have kept us inshore as of late. We are still having successful trips in the bay catching monster bull reds, spanish, bonitos, trout, and more. I still prefer a calm day off the beach catching a Sailfish, or Mahi, but we have to take what mother nature gives us. Pensacola beach has turned into quite the fall vacation spot. We are seeing more and more people visit our beaches every year. I’m thinking it’s because of the phenomenal fall fishing we have, but it could also be the great food or white sandy beaches. If you or your family are looking for something to do while in Pensacola a fishing trip is at the top of my list. I can also recommend going to the navy museum, checking out some of our old war forts, Joe Patties seafood, a dolphin tour, or parasailing. Booking a fishing trip is simple. Give me a call or shoot  me a text message. If I’m not available I can set you up with a reputable guide who is. The best number to reach is 850-450-3878. Below are a few pics from my most recent trips.
