Sorry it’s been so long since I have posted a report. My boat has been down do to engine trouble and I am just now back up and running. Today, I had the pleasure of guiding a group of repeat customers out of Texas. This is always a fun group to fish with. The conditions were not the best but we were determined to put some fish in the box. We knew we would have to work hard for our fish today with rough water conditions and lightening storms all around. We started the trip pitching live bait to some deep water structure that I usually catch redfish and Mangrove Snapper at. The first dropped we caught a nice Mangrove Snapper, however, we found out very quickly that this spot was too hard to fish because of the rough water. We were forced to move to some protected bank where I had caught some nice fish a few days earlier. We started drifting some structure and in no time we had the hook up with a nice fish! 2 minutes later we boated a nice 27″ redfish. With our spirits lifted we proceeded to land 11 nice redfish in a row! We kept 7 for my clients to take home for dinner and released the rest unharmed. After filling the coolers full of nice reds we moved to another spot and boated 4 nice blue fish and some Mangrove Snapper. We were just about to move to another spot when we got hammered by a lightening storm. We rushed in to get out of the rain and finally called it a day after waiting an hour for the rain to quit. All in all it was a very successful trip. We had to cut it an hour short because of the rain but we caught lots of fish and had a great time!
